Hair Expo is Australia’s biggest professional hairdressing event and on the lineup this year were none other than the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s very own F.A.M.E. Team. Katie Prescott, Ellie Bond, Paddy McDougall and Peter Mellon all jetted out to Melbourne to represent the UK on a world stage, bringing the best of British Hairdressing to an international audience.
The team made the trip to Australia for the event with support from BaByliss Pro, and were joined by mentor Nick Irwin and Fellowship Vice President, Andreas Stavrou.
The highlight of their trip was a chance to present on stage at Hair Expo, where they shared their most recent collection – The Deviants – live on the mainstage. They also participated in the GenNext Gala Show, which celebrates up-and-coming hairdressing talent from across the globe.
As well as showcasing four presentation models, the team shared their inspirations behind the collection – namely artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, New York’s fabled Mudd Club and the artistic and cultural melting pot of 80s downtown Manhattan.
Making the most of their time in Australia, the team also fitted in an education day with five-times Australian Hairdresser of the Year, Frank Apostolopoulos and got to know the Australian F.A.M.E. Team, who were also on the bill at Hair Expo.
