Colour Project & Project X Finale Night, 20.11.17

Arguably the biggest event of the year for the Colour Project and Project X’s teams is their finale evening, where both teams came together at the Rush Academy to put into practice all they had learnt. The evening encompassed everything that the Colour Project and Project X are all about, reflecting on two spectacular collections, all the new and improved skill sets and the personal growth of each member.

Every member brought something different with their model. The Colour Project created a myriad of bright colours and unique techniques and recreated the looks from their collection, ‘Disillusioned’. Project X focussed on big, bold shapes coupled with textures of every kind; fuzzy crimps, wet-look baby hairs and dreadlock braids to name a few.

Nicola Dow from Urban Hair & Beauty was awarded Colour Project Achiever of the Year on the night. “When my name was called out, I was in disbelief! Every single member of the team has worked so hard this year. I’ve loved learning to collaborate with other hairdressers on the same creative level and the collection we created was beautiful. I never thought at my age that I could say I have trained with such big industry names, learning invaluable tips and techniques and making friends for life. What a privilege!”

Project X’s Umberto Giannini Student of the Year was Ryan Steedman from Percy & Reed. “Being a part of this year’s Project X team was the one thing I wanted to achieve this year,” says Ryan, “To know that I have now completed it and on top of that, have been awarded Student of the Year blows my mind! I have learnt so much this year and feel that I have become a stronger hairdresser and believe in my own vision. I can’t wait for the future!”
