Jonathan’s main focus of the day was to demonstrate to the team how to utilise time with a model on a photoshoot. He explained how best to adapt in the moment in a shoot environment by transforming the hair and making small changes.
“It’s so common when you’re starting out to feel the need to get every single hair on the head looking perfect,” says Jonathan, “but that doesn’t always translate so well on the camera. In a high stress environment, it’s key to be able to think on the spot and adjust to get the best looks.”
Working on a model, he showed the team how to push the limits and offered top tips and tricks on the process of doing so, before taking the team outside for a street-style shoot. Having began his glowing career on an artistic team, Jonathan also took the time to share his hairdressing journey so far with the team.
“Having had a similar start in the industry, it was so rewarding to give back to hairdressers in the same position as I was,” he says, “I wanted to express to them how amazing this opportunity is and to grab it with both hands! They are all amazing and a great example of what the Fellowship can offer to stylists that are determined to push their career. An absolute joy and I can’t wait to see how they all grow throughout the year!”
Team member Luke Hawkins from The Marvellous Hair Company says, “What a day! Jonathan rose through the ranks to get to where he is now, and he remains so humble. He has achieved a lot and was very willing and enthusiastic in helping us do the same. Our day spent with him really did prove why he is one of the most incredible hairdressers in the industry and why he has reached where he is.”
