CLUBSTAR ART TEAM SPEND THE DAY WITH THE AMAZING KARINE JACKSON ALL THINGS CURLS & SWIRLS!

Karine Jackson has run her Covent Garden, colour-led salon for the last 15 years, offering Organic and Vegan services. Thanks to her commitment to eco-friendly products and services, her salon was the first to be certified sustainable in London.

Karine set the team a task ahead of the day to present a mood board of curl trends over the last 5 decades.

They worked on live models creating the right texture for curls using Tongs, Curlformers & Rollers.

Abby Quinn comments: “We worked on all different ways and techniques of curling and styling curly hair. From using Curlformers, tongs and diffusers.  Then we had mini photo shoot using a hairdryer to give models hair more movement. We also learned how we can be more of a greener salon and how we can help with the environment.  I learnt that the curls don’t need to be structured, just have fun and be creative with different styles.  Also, Curlformers are amazing for setting hair while on a photoshoot.”

Josh Easter added: “We had an amazing day at Karine Jackson’s salon, learning about sustainability in the hair industry. This was very insightful and opened up my eyes to a different part of the industry! We then talked about the last 5 decades of curly hair which influenced us in our practical work. Creating big shapes by curling hair. It was lots of fun as we got to experiment with different tools and techniques. Taking photos in different ways to capture this!”
