THE FELLOWSHIP FOR BRITISH HAIRDRESSING RETURNS TO LONDON FASHION DAY

Now in its seventh year, the Fellowship for British Hairdressing were delighted to be invited back to assist with the hair for London Fashion Day. 

Hosted at the St John’s Church in Hyde Park, London Fashion Day is an international fashion platform curated by AK PR & Consulting Agency. With over 15 years of experience and more than 60 successfully produced fashion shows across Europe, this event brings together creativity, professionalism, and strategy. 

Harry Andreou, F.A.M.E. Team Alumni 2024 and Project X Support 2025/26 led the hair team, offering guidance for the some of the hair team’s first experience of a backstage production. The hair team was made up of the 2026 F.A.M.E. Team (Olivia-Rose Brady, Samantha Byrne, Troy Boyd, and Chelsey Stone) and other Fellowship project members. 

Throughout the day, the hair team’s role was to assist in the styling of looks which aligned with the designer’s clean, minimalistic aesthetic with slick back buns and high ponytails. This was an incredible opportunity for the project members to gain essential backstage experience, build a professional portfolio, and connect with like-minded creative professionals, including designers, photographers, and models.  

 The atmosphere and energy of the production was electrifying, with the Fellowship’s project members working in pairs throughout the day to create an array of bespoke looks for the runway. Seeing as many of the project members had not experienced a fashion show before, this day was an amazing opportunity for them to become accustomed to the fast-paced nature of a backstage environment. This meant that the project members had to think on their feet and adapt to the situation that arose. Harry was on hand to encourage some of the members through their first experience in a session styling environment! 

Marcus Hampton, Project Men & Media Member 2026 said: “Working at London Fashion Day was a definite highlight for both myself and members of the team. The day was a blend of what I’d describe as organised chaos, with everyone working at full pace to ensure each model was fully prepared for the runway. The setting of St John’s Church in Hyde Park provided a beautiful backdrop, enhancing not only the fashion but also the overall presentation of the hair and the models themselves.”

Bernice Hoepfner-King, Project Colour Member 2026 said: “What can I say but what an incredible day at London Fashion Day. Such an amazing experience to work alongside so many talented artists and to learn from the incredible Harry Andreou. This is something I’ve always dreamed of doing, but I never had the opportunity or the confidence to put myself forward for it. Everyone was so supportive and encouraging, and I truly can’t thank the Fellowship for British Hairdressing enough for this opportunity.”
