FELLOWSHIP CREATIVE XCHANGE™ EDINBURGH
Hosted at Charlie Miller, the Fellowship welcomed guests for another night of creativity, collaboration, and community.
Marlene Lamont, Project Extend Leader and Owner of Urban Hair and Beauty welcomed attendees for coming, thanking Charlie Miller for the use of their space and Alfaparf Milano and GLOWWA for supplying the evening’s goody bags. Marlene went on to introduce the evening’s artists, explaining what each would be working on throughout the night. As the artists worked away on styles which incorporated all the latest trends, there was plenty of opportunity for attendees to ask any questions and dive deeper into the technique that the stylist was using.
Guests artists included: David Fisher, an Inverness hairstylist and educator, who showcased his techniques for working on long men’s hair. London based Asha Flatts, who specialises in colour and curl textures. An expert in hairstyling and hair-ups from Perth, Tina Thompson and Kelly Evans from Livingston, a specialist in intentional colour placement, blondes, and creative colour. Freelance Glasgow barber, Marcus Hampton, who demonstrated his razor taper techniques, and Bianca Gray from Airdrie, an expert in all things Avant Garde! From the Charlie Miller Team, Molly Rufus demonstrated the art of the blow-dry with a gorgeous choppy, layered cut and Karyn Holloway showcased a ‘cherry-cola’ inspired colour. From Korean-inspired hair-ups to working with men’s hair to creating touchable, texture and volume and Avant Garde, there was something for everyone at the Fellowship Creative XChange™ in Edinburgh!
An attendee on the night, William Gray from Gray’s International said: “The Creative XChange in Edinburgh was an incredible night, it was great to see so many artists demonstrating a variety of skills in a room full of positivity and creativity.”
The Fellowship Creative XChange™ events have been implemented to build up local creative communities and to show professionals the benefits of the Fellowship.
The Creative XChange™ events cover all aspects of the hairdressing and barbering industry, from traditional to contemporary techniques in cutting, styling, colour and barbering across all hair types and textures. These events are an opportunity for creatives to come together to present new ideas and techniques, collaborate with like-minded individuals to build stronger local communities and educational learning hubs.
