Industry Mourns UK Schwarzkopf Professional Educator Jamie Farrar

A much-loved figure at Schwarzkopf Professional and a generous talent, Jamie’s death comes as a great shock to the industry and his colleagues.

Schwarzkopf Professional released the below statement:

Jamie died yesterday in hospital. He leaves behind his beloved partner Colin and is deeply mourned by his PPS family. As his work family here at Schwarzkopf Professional we grieve a friend, colleague, team member and skilled educator. Jamie worked as an educator with us for over 15 years and during that time he was so much more; a guide, mentor and trainer to the YAT teams over the years; a trusted and valued training expert to salons up and down the country. Jamie had a total passion for hairdressing and a love of life.

Jamie joined Henkel in 2005 from Regis, where he had worked as a stylist. He started with us as a technical advisor for Clynol and in time became a permanent technical advisor covering our entire range.

Jamie was passionate about his job and educating people. He loved every aspect of his job, from the day-to-day teaching right through to photo shoots and the glamorous events that are so much a part of Schwarzkopf Professional life. He worked as a mentor for the Young Artistic Team, where he showed a great connection with and talent for developing the skills of younger hairdressers.

Jamie was diverse in his professional abilities. As well as being artistic and talented in teaching and instructing, he was practical and knowledgeable. He was so IT savvy and had a love of gadgets that he regularly helped ‘less able’ colleagues with IT problems. He also had a talent for training new starters and was ready and willing to support them in their first few months on the road. He was, as colleagues have described him to me today, ‘the complete package’.

“To say Jamie will be missed is the biggest of understatements,” says Kay Brady, national PPS manager. “We are sad beyond words and our hearts go out to Colin his partner and all those who loved him, it was an honour to know Jamie and count him as a friend. Words cannot describe the sadness we all feel at the loss of such a kind, giving and generous talent.”
