KY WILSON HAIRDRESSING ENTREPRENEUR SPENDS THE DAY WITH PROJECT X

Ky Wilson’s motto is: ”I don't provide just a haircut, I promote a way of living. This is my lifestyle, it's who I am, it's what I do”.

Ky is a hairstylist in many variations! You can find him behind the chair at his salons The Social.  On set for shoots, music videos, campaigns and ‘how to’ tutorials; Backstage for fashion shows, industry stage work and gigs; Popping up at festivals, burger bars and product launches. Basically, you can take your hairdressing skills to anywhere you want and it’s an amazing trade to swap for skills in return. He uses that a lot and I believe it helps build up strong relationships. 

Project X get to spend the day with Ky at his Salon in London, The Social.  The team also received courtesy of the new Brand Partner for Project Men a pair of Leaf razors.

Connor McIntyre comments: “Our day with Ky, was amazing from start to finish…
We learnt how to do a full hair cut with thinning scissors and how to use a razor. Showing us how to create the best content with our models he was incredible. Enjoyed my day so much from start to finish and definitely feel more confident in using a razor when cutting hair!”

James Farrer comments: “The day we had with Ky Wilson was a great eye opener  into content creation and client/model interaction, we had the chance to put on a small shoot which was totally unexpected but great to take tips for our upcoming Project X days.”

Annie Franklin comments “Our day with Ky was packed with inspiring and fun things. We learnt different cutting and texturing techniques on different hair types, all hands on with models. Then went on to styling it, how to create content and finished off with a photo shoot. We were so happy with our photos.”

Sophie-Rose Goldsworthy added: "The day with Ky was AMAZING! Ky’s approach to the day was brilliant and even though we were busy with models all day it felt very relaxed and fun. We got hands on straight away and he worked with each of us individually to guide us, as well as a team making sure that everyone felt confident in what they were doing. He gave us invaluable tips on how to make social media reels as well as the cutting education which gave me the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and try some new techniques. The images he shot for us of our models are all beautiful and I think the whole team came away from the day excited and proud of the looks we had created!"
