PROJECT MEN 23 SPEND THEIR FIRST TEAM DAYS AT WAHL HQ WITH PROJECT LEADER SIMON SHAW

Project Men travelled to Wahl HQ for an action packed two days with project leader Simon Shaw.

Day 1 was an introduction day with Simon introducing the year ahead, a tour of Wahl HQ followed by a cutting demo by Award winning barber Dean Gleeson, Wahl UK artist & Matakki Mentor.

Day 2 Emma Curd, Director of Matakki Scissors, Project Men Brand Partner, and Sam Campagna, Wahl UK Educator and Matakki Scissors Mentor. Emma talked through the Matakki brand and the importance of using the correct scissors whilst Sam followed by a cutting demo.

Rees Bryla comments: “Our first 2 days were amazing!! The first day with Dean Gleeson was sooo good. After finishing the day I felt more confident with clippers as they weren’t my strong point. A big thank you to Charlie for his help too!! It was great to hear tips and tricks from the guys too. 
Day 2 was a day with Mattaki, Emma & Sam Campagna. It was lovely to hear how passionate Emma is about her brand and I learnt that having the correct pair of scissors can help prevent any work related problems like carpal tunnel.  It was great to watch Sam do a cut. He explained more about scissor over comb and the way he does it and why. Great start to the year!”

Elettra Guggeri comments: "My first 2 days with Project Men have been so inspiring. Was great to meet the man himself Simon Shaw, our Project Leader, and the rest of the team as well as knowing about the brands we’re gonna be working with. It’s such an honour to be sponsored by a long established brand like Wahl and a premium steel scissors brand like Matakki. Really enjoyed the training day with Dean Gleeson, we went straight into practicing what we’ve just learned. Had to come out of my comfort zone by using  a few new clippers techniques that I’m definitely gonna bring back to the salon. 2nd day with Matakki Scissors and Sam Campagna was really inspiring. Emma from Matakki put us at ease and was very informative about the brand we’re gonna be using. Sam is one of the top Educators n the barbering industry, I enjoyed watching his work and learning about his approach on men’s hair and cutting techniques.  I’m really excited about what’s coming next and the amazing creatives I’ll get to connect with".

Thomas Griffin added: "The first 2 days of Project Men were great, the reality of the next twelve months really set in when finally meeting the rest of the team. Wahl HQ has some amazing facilities and it was a surreal experience learning new and alternative techniques from top Wahl/Mattaki ambassadors. I can’t wait to get together with the team again for our next date at Captain Fawcett!"
