PROJECT MEN SPEND THE DAY AT THE MARVELLOUS CAPTAIN FAWCETT EMPORIUM

“Herein lies Captain Fawcett's Emporium, home to a simply delectable range of first-class gentleman's grooming requisites.” 

The team spent the first part of the morning learning all about the Captain Fawcett brand and its history and future plans.  Then it was a tour of the Emporium.  In the afternoon, Rhys Whitehouse, Wahl/Mattaki mentor showcased his cutting techniques.

Elettra Guggeri comments: “What a pleasure it has been meeting Richie Finney! From the moment I walked into Captain Fawcett’s I loved the whole vibe. The products, the scents, the packaging really shows the authenticity behind the brand. After a little tour around the museum Richie gave us a truly inspiring insight about history of the company and Katie talked about the product range. In the afternoon was great to watch Matakki mentor Rhys Whitehouse, showcasing some cutting technique. I left feeling more confident about beard trimming and excited to use my Captain Fawcett’s gift set in the salon!”

Thomas Griffin comments: “Our second date with Project Men at Captain Fawcett was inspiring. To hear the story of the brands humble beginnings in Richie’s kitchen from the man himself was a personal highlight of mine, and getting to see the history of our industry in psychical form through his extensive collection of artefacts was really insightful to see how far we have come. We also had the pleasure of taking part in an amazing look and learn from Wahl/Mattaki mentor Rhys Whitehouse from which i Ihave walked away with some fresh techniques and ideas.” 

Rees Bryla added: "Richie was warm and welcoming. Such a great story teller. He explained how he started, making his beard wax in his kitchen in a small Bain-Marie he got from the charity shops to how the brand has progressed to where it is now. We got a tour of the warehouse and got to meet the team behind the brand. I’m really excited to be working with Captain Fawcett this year. The products are fantastic to use and smell amazing."

We had 3 demos from Rhys Whitehouse. Another barber at the top of his game. It was good to just sit and watch and pick up a few tips and tricks along the way.
