PROJECT MEN KICK OFF THEIR 2022 MENTORING YEAR WITH A DAY WITH THEIR PROJECT LEADER SIMON SHAW

The 2022 PROJECT Men Team travelled to their project leader's hometown to spend the day with Simon Shaw, Global Artistic Director for Wahl UK.

After inital team introductions, Simon presented the team with a Wahl Kit bag, with lots of Wahl goodies.  Great start for the team.

The team were taught three different haircuts using new clipper techniques and blending.    Rhys Whitehouse, Wahl’s British Barber of the Year also joined the team and provided a demo on fades.  They were also taught the importance of eye contact with your audience when teaching and on stage.

Janene Hawkins comments: “The team day was amazing.  Simon’s enthusiasm and passion for his craft is captivating, engaging and totally enthusing.  New skill sets learnt with the use of clippers and my style of cutting has been enhanced beyond belief in one day.  Rhys Whitehouse, the current Wahl barber of the year also taught us all some amazing fades and in great detail, superb start to an amazing journey!”

Ian Young comments: “It was a great day, met some wonderful people on the team.  I learnt to cut texture with clippers, fantastic can’t wait for the next one”.
 

Blayre Turnbull comments:  “An amazing day to spend the day learning from Simon and Rhys. The best thing I found was learning longer styles as I'm used to just shorter cuts being a sole barber. I will definitely be purchasing a texturing blade for clippers as I have never seen texture created by using clippers.”
 

Roisin Murphy added: “The first PROJECT MEN team day was incredible. It’s made me super excited for future team dates. Simon kicked off the year showcasing different approaches to using clippers, something I can’t wait to start using. I am eager to see what the year brings with the lovely team and Simons great energy!”
