PROJECT SASSOON TEAM DAY FOCUS ON THEIR PHOTOSHOOT WITH PINK GRUBB

The team spent the day at the House of Sassoon, this was all about preparing for their 2 day photoshoot in July.

This was a colour focus day. As the students have now settled on a theme for the photoshoot (Mondrian (lines & panels); Keith Haring patterns & Blitz kids for the fashion references), Pink demonstrated ways to turn inspiration into colour techniques. The aim was to show how to connect inspiration images and technical colouring. 

In the afternoon there was a work session – trying out ideas based around the inspiration and creating head sheets of ideas.

Joanna Jones comments: “Pink delivered the most amazing, relaxed session on creative placement we gained more knowledge on creating visions boards for collections and talked through our concept & photo shoot day coming up I July. I loved it! So much knowledge & fun gained.”

Sarah Dawes comments: “Had a FABULOUS day with Pink, we explored how the ideas and inspiration for Hair Collections come about. It was really fascinating uncovering how a photograph of the reflection of light on a river could be turned into a colour technique of a shine line with blue and orange colour with a stunning image to match! It’s all about the story, the vibe and the feeling and how fashion, art, architecture and the person in the chair can be the starting point for a great photographic collection. We had fun in the practical session creating whatever colour technique we wanted with whatever shades of tint! A fabulous day with brilliant people and sweet treats too.”
