PROJECT SCOTLAND TEAM DAY WITH LUKE ELLIS CO-OWNER OF SINK & ANCHOR BARBERSHOP

Luke Ellis was originally from London but has called Edinburgh home for the past 10 years. He is the co-owner of Sink & Anchor Barbershop, which has served the community for 9 years. With 15 years of experience in the hair industry, he has won multiple awards and was on Project Men & Media Team in 2024.

The team spent the day at Medusa in Edinburgh.

The day was all about mastering ‘the fade’.

Tina Thomson comments:Luke really is inspiring and a true craftsman. I learned so much from our day with him. Fades and knowing which process to choose when fading has always had to be visual for me, as I find it hard remembering where to use it. It really was a lightbulb moment for me having Luke by my side breaking it down.”

Alison Pilichos comments: Thank you Luke for a fantastic day learning all things barbering from precision fades to mastering bone structure! Every part of the day was packed with insight and intention. Luke’s attention to detail and ability to break things down in a way that just clicks is next level. Came away with new techniques, a fresh mindset, and a real boost of confidence. I have finally been deemed worthy of creating a burst fade on my teenage son. Massive respect to Luke for creating an environment where learning feels both comfortable and challenging.”

Nikki Adamson comments:Our barbering day with Luke was nothing short of brilliant. He has the calmest, most reassuring training style that instantly put us at ease. From start to finish, he made us feel comfortable, capable, and confident. The session genuinely changed my approach to gents’ work and helped me sharpen my skills. What stood out even more was that his support didn’t end there, Luke took the time to look over some of my work afterwards and see how I’d passed the training on to the younger team. I was honestly humbled by his encouragement. An amazing guy with incredible talent and a real gift for teaching.”

Connie Graham added: Had a brilliant training day with Luke! He was laid back had a great teaching style and shared lots of knowledge. I’ve got quite a few gents in my clientele, and he really helped me fine tune my techniques where I felt I was lacking. I left feeling so much more confident massive thanks to Luke!”
