PROJECT SCOTLAND TEAM DAY WITH PAUL STAFFORD

The team spent the day at Medusa, Elm Row, Edinburgh with the amazing Paul Stafford, 4 times Northern Ireland’s hairdresser of the year, BHA hall of fame.  Supported by the Project Brand Partner

The objective of the day was to showcase the creation of Paul Stafford’s Alternative Hair Show collection.  The team worked on live models with a final photoshoot of each of the team’s models.

Nikki Adamson comments: “Honestly, we could’ve listened to Paul all day. His knowledge is vast. So real, honest, and it just hit home. We covered everything from consultation, cutting, styling, camera work, choosing your background, make up. So that our final image told the story of our model’s vibe. The team ran through all emotions today, Paul opened up about his own insecurities and experiences throughout his career, it was a proper moment of realisation for all of us. It just got us.  We had loads of laughs too with his unfiltered stories and have left feeling inspired, more confident in my work and choices leading to the final image. Thanks to Paul and Lisa I care less about judgement and more about being proud of what I create. Less about how many likes but WHO likes your post, more about the imperfections that make your images stand out, more about what you as the artist wants from your image.”

Connie Graham comments: "The day with Paul Stafford was so much more than a hair education day, yes we learned some brilliant techniques, but the real takeaway was his insight on life. He reminded us how important it is to grab every opportunity that comes our way. His energy, honesty, and of course that Irish craic, made the day unforgettable."

Justin Mackland added: The most incredible day with Paul Stafford. One of my hair heroes - it was a dream come true. Paul did a big focus on individuality and mentored us all in our pairs with each model creating bespoke looks. From in the salon prepping to out on the street shooting - I learned so much and can’t wait to bring that into my work both in and outside the salon.”
