The current recipient of the Sassoon Scholarship, Kim Nicole Jones, has spent her first day on a Sassoon Academy course.
Kim won the Scholarship, run in association with Sassoon Academy and the Fellowship for British Hairdressing and sponsored by Denman, in 2020 but has only been able to take part in the course now due to restrictions
Kim, from Anglesey, said: “Words cannot begin to explain how incredible my Sassoon experience has been! Following on from a week of intensive cutting with the main focus for the first four days being in true Sassoon style perfecting geometry and precision of both classic and technical cuts as part of the ABC cutting. During my final day I was given an opportunity of a lifetime in having a one-to-one day with the world renowned Silvia Solero, where she encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone and create some editorial looks, creating textured cuts these being the shake cut and also the newly trending Wolf cut
“Following on from the experience I have a new lease of life, with a boosted drive and passion to get creative, I felt I truly developed from this experience and I was raring to be back in the salon, pampering all my fabulous clients and supporting my students development with my newly-enhanced skillset and knowledge
“The support and kindness I have been given to my professional development has been outstanding and I’m still pinching myself that this has happened to me! I am truly thankful to Sassoon, Denman and the Fellowship for making my dreams a reality and urge anyone and everyone who’s thinking about entering this scholarship to take the plunge and do it!! '
