THE PROJECT COLOUR 2022 TEAM KICK START THE NEW YEAR WITH A DAY WITH THE AMAZING ADAM REED

Paul Dennison has certainly got an amazing year ahead for the 2022 PROJECT: Colour Team.  Their first mentor is the amazing Adam Reed.   Adam states: “I want to create hair that makes people stop for a second to look closer. Maybe it’s a weird texture or the shiniest hair they’ve ever seen. It could be astonishingly intricate or a little bit eccentric. Perhaps it’s an arse-kicking technical cut. But irrespective, it held their attention. That’s what great hair should do.”

The team travelled to Adam’s salon in London for a day colouring wigs.  Project Leader Paul Dennison commented: "Having Adam mentoring the first day for the new team was great.  He brought a great energy and made the day relaxed and fun, starting with a group discussion, giving the team a great insight into how he likes to work.  Followed by the team being provided with a wig to get creative with.  All in all an amazing first team day."

Luke Logan comments: “The day was awesome! I think the main thing I took away from the day was just to be your true self and not to follow the trends within the industry! But create them.”

Sophie Perfect comments: “Wow just wow! What an amazing day with Adam Reed. We spent the day colouring wigs and really focused on placement. We went in with the less is more approach and it’s amazing the results you can get by tweaking what’s already there."

April Mash comments:” Our session with Adam Reed was such a great way to start the year on Project Colour. The salon was such a friendly environment where we all met for the first time and the day from beginning to end was so inspiring. For many of us it was our first-time colouring and working with wigs, however Adam & Sarah both made us all feel at ease and we was given so much knowledge, help and advice along the way that we was all able to produce some really cool looks & images!”

Katie McLaughlin added: "Our first team session was amazing! We worked on wigs (which was new for me!!) and created / enhanced the colours on them by having a less is more approach. Adam was such an interesting and successful person to be learning from! I’ve taken away so much and can’t wait to put his advice into my every day work!"

Kayleigh Byrne sums up: "Our day with Adam Reed was so inspiring! I really enjoyed learning all about his career and how he came to be the amazing hairdresser that he is today. He gave us lots of advice and really pushed our creativity to the next level by having us think back to basics and create beautiful colours using the phrase “less is more”. We spent our day working on wigs that had been previously coloured, using techniques to enhance the previous colour. Myself and Louise decided to try some new techniques such as “raccoon stripes” and “frosted tips”. It was a fantastic day, full of creativity and fun! Adam is extremely talented and insightful, he had a detailed story for every question we asked!"
