Welcome to PROJECT NORTHERN IRELAND!
Project Northern Ireland: Elevating Northern Ireland's Hair Creativity
Project Northern Ireland is a unique programme designed to showcase and develop Northern Ireland's top hairdressing talent across all areas of creativity—cutting, colouring, styling, and more. With a minimum of 8 educations days + a photoshoot (all education days will be based in Northern Ireland), as well as appearing on stage time at HairCon, Manchester & the Projects Grand Finale.
It’s a platform for hair professionals to come together, learn from each other, and explore new creative approaches, all while staying true to the distinctive style and innovation that 'Northern Ireland's Hair Creativity' is known for.
What Project Northern Ireland offers:
Project Northern Ireland is about fostering creativity and collaboration, giving hair professionals the tools and inspiration to continue growing and pushing boundaries in their craft.
The Fellowship launching Project Northern Ireland is something I’ve always hoped would become a reality, and I’m thrilled to be the first leader for this Project, as its very close to my heart. As for the mentees, I’m beyond excited to take them on an incredible journey showing all aspects of hairdressing – Everything from salon-relevant, session styling, social media, stage work and ultimately a photographic collection.
Northern Ireland getting its chance to showcase the incredible talent it has to offer is so exciting, not only for the ever-emerging talent, but also for the phenomenal trailblazers who we’ll have mentorship days with as part of Project Northern Ireland – These are people I look up to myself, who have and continue to shape the hairdressing industry, and for them to share their knowledge and advice with the mentees is an opportunity I cannot recommend enough for anyone considering applying.
With the Fellowship itself being a forward-thinking, forever-moving, diverse and creative community, I’ve taken it as a great privilege to be trusted with the responsibility of showcasing all the possibilities, opportunities and potential career-paths available to the hairdressing community here, some of which may have previously seemed unattainable in Northern Ireland, but my mission with the Project is to prove that the future is limitless for the many talented individuals here.
Stephen Campbell, Project Leader Northern Ireland
Stephen Campbell is the dynamic force leading the brand new Project Northern Ireland, bringing with him a vibrant mix of creativity, leadership, and a deep rooted love for his homeland. Stephens experience of the hair industry is as varied as it is exciting… From becoming a familiar face backstage at Fashion Weeks and shows to teaching fellow hairdressers his skills. Stephens passion and love for the endless experiences this industry has to offer is one of his main driving forces.
Over the years, Stephen has become no stranger at the Fellowship being a mentee himself on Project Colour to becoming the second ever Northern Ireland based member to become part of the prestigious FAME Team. He has experienced firsthand what the Fellowship can bring to stylists in Northern Ireland, and the opportunities it can reveal.
As a salon owner and passionate advocate for local talent, he’s on a mission to celebrate and elevate the often-underrated artistry found in Northern Ireland, with the clear goal of shining a spotlight on the incredible stylists and creatives hiding in plain sight across his gorgeous, spirited corner of the world.
I opened Lynette Murray Hair at Studio A114 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, 8 years ago as I was passionate about creating a more sustainable salon where I could use products that were better for the environment and my clients.
I've been in the industry 26 years and love how sustainability has really taken off within our industry.
I cannot wait to work alongside Stephen Campbell in my support role for Project Northern Ireland. This is such an amazing opportunity for us all to work together and learn.
