What is your current role in the industry?

Since establishing the award-winning Westrow hairdressing group in 1987 with Co-Director Marc Westerman, Steve Rowbottom has, as head of creative direction, taken the brand from strength to strength, with the business now boasting eight salons across Yorkshire and a 5,000 sq ft multi-award-winning educational Academy in the heart of Leeds.

Responsible for elevating the profile of the business in the industry, Steve has been key to the brand winning and finalising in more than 80 key industry awards over the last 35 years, with Steve instrumental in the Westrow House Academy scooping the prestigious Training Award at the 2016, 2018 and 2021 British Hairdressing Business Awards for the brand’s state-of-the-art educational establishment, catapulting them into the prestigious Hall of Fame, awarded to brands after winning three times within the same category.

Steve and his business partner Marc are also in the British Hairdressing Business Awards Business Directors of the Year Hall of Fame.

Responsible for keeping the business at the forefront of technical excellence and with a dedication to discipline, Steve loves re-interpreting classic techniques, is committed to education and pushing the creative boundaries and strives for excellence in all areas.
