THE FELLOWSHIP PRESENTS HAIR & VISION 'THE NATURE OF COLOUR' SPONSORED BY AVEDA

The Fellowship presents Hair & Vision 'The Nature of Colour' sponsored by Aveda, returned for a second session, this time in London at the brands creative hub, Aveda Lifestyle Salon & Spa.

Bringing together a new audience from the South, it was an evening of pure inspiration where there were a variety of live demonstrations, discussions and trend reports delivered by the much loved Aveda artists.

The evening started with a warm welcome from Robert Eaton, President of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, setting the stage for an inspiring night ahead. Hayley Hughes, Aveda Education Manager, then took the stage to welcome the audience to the home of Aveda, sharing with the audience the brands commitment to sustainability as well as the wider international hairdressing industry as a whole.

Hayley then welcomed along Joe Hill, Aveda International Technical Capability Manager, who shared a small insight into what to expect on the night. Joe delved into the colour background within Aveda and how it has formed an exceptional part of their journey as a team. Joe then welcomed Krysia West and Sam Bell who are part of Aveda UK & Ireland Artistic team, who took the audience through their journey of monochrome and how it is important to see black as a colour, making it much softer to make it more appealing and playful. The duo as explained where they took their inspiration from and how monochrome is a trend to always remember.

Next to the stage was the the incredible team from Butchers Salon, Paul McVeigh and Lisa Jane, who transitioned the trends from monochrome through to creative colour. Discussing their love of coppers and pinks, Paul showcased a creative vertical lightening technique whilst Lisa demonstrated the  air touch technique, sharing a live transition of colour, taking a peach tone with violet resulting in a diverse dimension.

Following this, UK Aveda Technical Education Team member Janine Marino discussed diversification of hair through colour and the influence and use of nature through the Aveda products and values. Joe and Janine then discussed salon trends and services, sharing their must have looks in Aveda salons around the UK, most recently ‘Mushroom Blonde and the Scandi Hairline.’

For the final demonstration, Aveda Educator and Director of BA1 Zac Fennell showcased his gorgeous textured look on his model, with gorgeous curls and volume throughout. Zac explained his use of colour throughout the textured hair and shared his advice on education within this area as well as offering this as a service. With curly hair, anything is possible.

For the final discussion of the evening, Rob was joined by both Katie and Zac to discuss service trends and how to make services much more bespoke within the salons. The trio discussed general salon life and the growth of colour throughout the hairdressing industry.

Bringing the evening to a close, Robert Eaton welcomed the artists and their models back to the stage and thanked everyone for their attendance and the artists for their incredibly insightful presentations.
