PROJECT X SPEND THE DAY WITH AFRO & HAIR TEXTURED SPECALIST NAOMI BROOKS

The team spent the day at the House of Keune by Bloom in London with mentor Naomi Brooks, Educator Afro & textured hair specialist / educator, owner of The Hair Sanctuary in Manchester.

The morning Naomi presented a demo on cut and styling curly hair and then the afternoon the team were hand’s on putting into practice what they had been taught.

Jamie Leigh Bailey comments: “I learnt so much, Naomi was very inspiring. I’m more aware of product choice for different curl patterns and feel more confident in drying with a diffuser. I’ve cut curly hair before. but I haven’t seen it done in the curl by curl method. I’ll continue to use this technique moving forward, it’s a much more personalised way of working with emphasis on caring for the curls. Thank you Naomi for educating us in textured hair, all the models looked amazing!”

Allie Harknett comments: “Naomi shared all her curly knowledge with us, going into detail on products, how much to use and when to use it. She also explained what curl type works best with certain products which was something that I always struggled with. I cut a texture I had never dealt with before but because of Naomi’s advice and her constant checking in on me I felt super confident in what I was doing. After spending the day with Naomi I 100% feel more confident in cutting all textures and I can’t wait to take this back to the salon. Thank you Naomi!”

Hannah Marcia Larden comments: “Had a great day covering how to cut and care for textured hair. Naomi covered all the foundations from noticing different curl patterns and how to execute a dry curly cut and the importance of cleansing and treating the hair correctly. I took away more in depth product knowledge and different methods and techniques I can’t wait to use and share with my clients!”

Lucy Melvin added: “We were taught the curly cut which I have never done before. It was amazing to see how the shape was formed using this technique. The finishing look was beautiful and I will be using this technique in my salon daily life. Naomi was very informative on which products to use on which hair curl and the importance of cleansing and treating the hair. Thank you so much.”
