F.A.M.E. TEAM SPENT THEIR DAY WITH A WHO’S WHO OF INDUSTRY GREATS!

The team had an amazing line-up of mentors for their session with Sally Brooks.  Session stylist Sky Cripps Jackson, a freelance hairstylist with over 20 year’s experience, working internationally in fashion, runway music & media, started the morning off sharing her world of session with the team.
 
Sam Burnett, Hair Stylist London Owner & Creative Director of Hare & Bone, presented the team with a demo on how to get editorial looks and what products to use for those looks.

Followed by Nick Irwin, recently appointed Global Styling Ambassador for SCHWARZKOPF Professional. Nick is one of the most sought-after hairstylists in the industry.  Being a former F.A.M.E. Team Leader Nick shared his creative process with the team and talked about his career and how to make the most out of the F.A.M.E. experience.

Fellowship’s British Hairdresser of the Year, Cos Sakkas & photographer Jack Eames,  joined the team to go through top tips on preparing for their photoshoot and top tips for creating collections for awards.

James Parr comments: “We had an amazing mentor day with NOT 1 guest mentor, but 4!
Thank you so much to all of our guest mentors for giving up their time and giving us an invaluable insight into how your minds work for your creative processes and how you navigate certain areas of the industry.

My takeaway from this was, there is always more to learn, and there’s always a different way to view things, how to find the nuance, the feeling and your identity as a hairdresser.”

Edd Moss added: “I personally learnt some great ideas on how to get into the session side and this inspired me to find out what I am best at and to hone in on it and also putting that into my socials and posts.  Sam passed on some great tips using elastic and winding two different ways to create bigger texture. It was great to hear from Nick Irwin explaining how the industry changed from the 90’s and how it got to where it is today. He finished with his favourite products and what’s in his tool kit and tips on how to use the products and how to keep it neat and tidy. Cos Sakkas and Jack Eames then joined us on their journey with BHA’s from the beginning and till now. Telling us what to look for in a model and for a collection that its about the energy on set, how to get your inspiration. And the ups and downs of putting something like this all together. We learnt that you need a strong team in order to create magic.”
