Jack Howard Mentors Colour Project Team
As balayage continues to lead the way as a colour technique, the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Colour Project learnt from one of the best in the business; Jack Howard.
Jack has made a name for himself as a balayage expert, and spent his session with the Colour Project team showcasing his ‘four gestures’ of balayage techniques. He also provides insightful dos and don’ts for mastering commercial hair colour, and showcasing your work on social media.
The morning started with a theory session on principles of colour and placement, before it was time for a demonstration from Jack. In the afternoon, the team got hands on and worked on their own mannequin heads, with expert guidance from Jack.
“I had an amazing day,” says team member Harriet Greenwood from Bad Apple Hair. “It was great to meet Jack and see the master of balayage at work. In the morning, we did theory on his four gestures of Balayage: Classic, Creative, Micro and Californian. We then got to see him demonstrate all four techniques.”
“In the afternoon we went through what we learnt on our blockheads,” she continues. “It was great to have Jack on hand to make sure that we nailed it! It was a great day and what we learnt was so perfect for taking back to the salon and using daily. I definitely feel more confident now with balayage.”
