ClubStar Art Team Learn from Marc Antoni Team

One of the key components of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing is mentoring the next generation of hairdressing talent, with members from across the country – and of every level of experience – giving up their time to pass on their skills, knowledge and ideas to their industry peers.

Former Fellowship president Bruno Marc of Marc Antoni salons knows better than most the value of sharing education, and it was his influence which led some of the stars of his salon group to mentor the most recent ClubStar Art Team education day.

Award-winning Marc Antoni stylists Dan Spiller, Altin Ismaili and Daniel Bryan recently spent the day at the Wella World Studio in London, where they taught cut, colour and styling skills to the ClubStar Art Team.

The day started with a presentation from Dan, Altin and Daniel, who shared images, learnings and anecdotes from their own careers to date. They then demonstrated some of the highlights of the latest Marc Antoni collection on models, showcasing skills in cut, colour and styling. The four styles showcased a series of takes on blonde – from on-trend blush pink to a softer update on balayage lengths – and a variety of cuts, from a disconnected crop to choppy layers.

In the afternoon, it was over to the ClubStar Art team to work on their own models, using the techniques they had been taught in the morning to bring the Marc Antoni influence into their work. They then presented their models back to the rest of the group, providing another chance to improve on their presentation skills and gain feedback from the experts.

Team member Jo Pacey from KH Hair commented, “The Marc Antoni team showed us a great variety of cuts, colour and styling techniques. They were very enthusiastic and inspired us to utilise some of the techniques we had learnt so that we could create our own looks. I have definitely taken away some new and exciting techniques to use in the salon.”

“It was so nice to see an initial idea for a look and follow it through to an end result,” adds Brooke Evans from Tim Scott Wright Hairdressing. “In the afternoon it was great to work on our models. I was finally taught a figure of eight braid too, which I have practiced for months and not managed to master. Thanks to the team, today I managed it!”
