ClubStar Art Teams Practice Presentation Skills with Debbie G

Ahead of their stage presentation at Salon International, the ClubStar Art Team were treated to a training day with industry education expert, Debbie G.

The team joined Debbie at her salon base, Billi Currie in London, for a day that was all about boosting confidence, mastering presentation and delivering stage-worthy work while talking to an audience.

Ahead of the day, the team were tasked with preparing a presentation about themselves. Once they arrived at the salon, Debbie asked them to share this presentation with her and the group, so that she could gauge their level of confidence and the areas where she felt they needed extra work.

“Although it wasn't a judgmental process at all, the feedback was so helpful for the following tasks in the day,” says team member Sophia Tsilidis from Headmasters Soho.

Following the initial presentations, Debbie then broke down everything the team  needed to know about giving a successful presentation. Her tips covered preparation, how to present yourself, body language, word choice, the pace to speak at and all of the key messages the team would need to give an audience.

“It was such a great day,” says Sophia. “I have taken away transferable life skills, which I was then able to put into practice straight away on stage at Salon international. I can't wait to be on stage again now!”

Stuart Kimber from Spargo Hairdressing agreed, adding: “Spending the day with industry icon Debbie G was a highlight of the year for me! She helped us to prepare and gave insight on what to expect at Salon International. Her advice was amazing and her techniques were spot on.”
