THE FELLOWSHIP PRESENTS HAIR & VISION 'BLONDES' SPONSORED BY SCHWARZKOPF PROFESSIONAL

The Fellowship presents Hair & Vision continued it’s Scottish seasonal trip for another fantastic event, Blondes, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional.

Held at the prestigious Rainbow Room Academy in the heart of Glasgow, the event was very much sought after, with colourists from all over Scotland coming to together to celebrate the ‘Blondes’ – the trends, the techniques and the evolution of a colour so sought after by clients and colourists alike. Known for their exceptional education and love of colour, Rainbow Room was the perfect setting to host an evening full of colour and creativity.

To begin the evening Fellowship for British Hairdressing President Robert Eaton welcomed the audience alongside Schwarzkopf Professional National Professional Partner & Events Manager, Kay Brady. Kay introduced the Schwarzkopf brand and gave an insight into their world of blondes and how this has evolved over the past few years. Blondes are a talking point in every salon and the evening was the perfect time to look forward at how this specific colour will revolutionise the world of hairdressing over the next 6-12months.

With the crowd waiting in anticipation, the duo welcomed Blonde Me Ambassador, Tim Scott-Wright, and his model to the stage alongside Schwarzkopf Ambassador and Rainbow Room International Artistic Director Suzie McGill. Tim and Suzie took the audience through their respected looks, with Tim opting for a striking cool blonde and sharing with the audience the trend and how to tackle this in an efficient, salon friendly time. ‘Development time when creating trend led colours is important, you need to ensure this works for your column, the client but also to allow you to achieve the colour that you envisage.’ Suzie showcased a creative, platinum look teamed with texture and a striking statement colour section. ‘Partnering the cut and the colour is so important, and something you must think about when creating such a statement look. Plan ahead and channel your own vision to make sure you are showcasing he best of both at every opportunity. When creating a strong colour look. The cut is just as important to show this off in the correct way.’ The duo shared with the audience and host their experience with achieving different blonde looks in the salon and on shoots and how the ‘blondes’ trends evolve every season.

Next to the stage was Rainbow Room International Artistic Team members Diana Carson and Archie Lam, who brought to the stage their creative looks, each with a focus on creative consumer trends. Diana showcased a beautiful disconnected blonde bob, working with texture throughout the back and a shorter length complete with a choppy fringe. Diana explained that being blonde can be creative, it’s about bringing the best out of every individual and channelling their own creative vision. Diana also discussed the importance of maintenance for blondes and how to achieve a high lift on those clients who have a much darker natural base. Alongside Diana, Archie showcased his model (his first time on a stage!) and shared a gorgeous voluminous look, full of curls and beautiful pastels placed throughout. Archie shared the best way to achieve a much more colourful look, whilst keeping this subtle and client friendly. His use of muted pinks and lavender wowed the audience.

Last but not least, the team welcomed Schwarzkopf Ambassadors, creative directors, and experts in textured hair Ashley Gamble and Rick Roberts to the stage. This highly anticipated section was very much welcomed in the north, with textured hair a huge talking point. Ashley and Rick both created editorial led looks, featuring exceptional volume and incredible texture throughout. The duo discussed the use of colour on textured hair, how to work with different hair types and why being inclusive to all hair types is vital in todays market. The duo answered a variety of questions from the eager audience who were desperate to learn more.

Bringing the evening to a close, both Robert Eaton and Kay Brady welcomed the artists and their models back to the stage and thanked everyone for their attendance and the artists for their incredibly insightful presentations.
