PROJECT X 2022 KICK START THEIR MENTORING YEAR LEARNING ALL ABOUT WIGS
Sam Burnett, Project X Leader invited the team to the HQ of Hare & Bone in London. Assisted with the Hare & Bone Art Team, Jamie Bennie & Jose Albaladejo, the team spent the day on ‘Fashion Wig’ making. Focussing on a bowl & bob shapes to start with.
Sam talked through the thought process and steps to achieving the best results.
Miles Twist comments: “An amazing time with Sam Burnett and his team creating fashion wigs. Sam took us through the process of mapping out, attaching wefts of hair and techniques to create a natural looking finish. Sam also talked us through his career, working practices and how we could develop these in the future!”
Sian Roscoe comments: “We had an amazing day with Sam and the Hare & Bone team this week! We were shown two techniques on wig making for shoots and shows that combined contemporary and classic shapes. This is an area I don’t have much experience in and I took so much away from it. Wig making is a great way of creating shapes and colours on models without even touching their natural hair. Huge thank you to the team for their time and invaluable advice.”
Tanahya Nash, added: “To kick off our Project: X. journey we headed to Hare and Bone for a workshop on fashion wig making lead by Sam, Jamie and Jose. It really blew my mind, learning that the images they’ve created were with wigs and the versatility they can create. Being a colourist mainly myself, I can really see myself using what I’ve learnt for shoot work. It was such a great day. The team are all so talented and it’s really got me looking forward to the year ahead!”
